A fruit popular during the Renaissance, it may be making something of a comeback. Shakespeare called it the "open arse" fruit. Indeed, they look like giant brown rosehips. This jam is like a fine wine with layers of flavor. The jam color is bronzy, and the flavor is utterly unique. Best described as a mix of fig, apple, plum, and rose. Limited numbers, but a unique treat.
